He has served on the council of the University of Leicester and has previously been a Non-Executive Director on the Board of a range of sector agencies including the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA). Outside of HE, he served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Endsleigh Insurance.
Aaron is currently a school governor, chair of BPP University, on the Council of Goldsmiths University of London and chair of a specialist college in East London. He has led recent reviews of Governing Body effectiveness at Warwick, Royal Holloway, DMU, Essex, Queen Mary University of London, Newcastle, Hull, Nottingham Trent, Manchester Metropolitan University, Northumbria, Regent’s University London and Sheffield Hallam Universities. In 2016-17 he led a review of academic governance practice in 16 HEIS for HEFCE.
