Project Title: ChatGPT in Computing Education - A Policy White Paper
The project is: In progress
Project Summary:
Supported by a Special Project grant from the Council of Professors and Heads of Computing, Dr Annabel Latham and Dr Matthew Shardlow led a project exploring the effects of Large Language Models on Computing Higher Education. In July 2023, 65 academics from 33 UK universities convened to hold the first workshop on ChatGPT in Computing Education. This has now resulted in the release of a policy white paper summarising the findings of the workshop and giving valuable policy insights for Computing Higher Education leaders and policymakers.
The report covers assessment threat mitigation strategies in detail, followed by an extended policy section considering various angles when incorporating generative AI into Computing Education. https://cphc.ac.uk/publications/reports/.
Impact: Support HEIs in developing policies around Generative AI.
Audience: It has a particular focus on Technical/Computing departments of HEIs, but has general advice for all HEIs
