Advance HE members are encouraged to apply for project funding to explore student outcomes outside of the classroom, support diversity in academic leadership and develop sustainable institutions, as part of the 2022-23 Collaborative Development Fund.
The 2022-23 Collaborative Development Fund (CDF) supports the development of Advance HE members by addressing key sector challenges together through a series of projects. Three projects are announced in the first tranche of funding including:
Beyond The Classroom: Student Outcomes – this project will collate and curate a small number of institutional case studies that identify and explain how new forms of working and organisational collaboration support good student outcomes (progression, retention, graduate outcomes) by creating transformation activities outside of the formal classroom experience. This project is suitable for Advance HE members the globe.
Academic Leadership Talent Pipeline: Good Practice Case studies – in collaboration with Universities Human Resources (UHR) this project will create a portfolio of case studies that focuses on sharing members’ good practices in order to support a diverse talent pipeline for academic staff who take on the formal leadership role of Head of School/Department. This project is suitable for all Advance HE members around the globe.
Developing Sustainable Institutions – this project will examine instances of sustainable institutions from around the world to give an evidence-based review of the most recent best practices for creating a sustainable institution and support their understanding of the need to take a strategic approach to sustainability across all areas of operations. This project is suitable for all Advance HE members around the globe.
Nick Skeet, Associate Director (Membership & Accreditation), said, “I’m delighted to be launching our Collaborative Development Fund for 2022-23 as we aim to support shared learning and enhancement activity by funding a range of innovative and exciting project initiatives.
“Each year we consult with our members on where and how we can support you in meeting the many challenges in higher education today. Sometimes novel but often long-standing, these challenges call for sector-wide thinking and solutions. The CDF allows us to use our reach, convening power and the breadth of expertise and experience from right across our membership to help add real value.
“By tackling important sector concerns collectively, the funding awarded by Advance HE helps our members to find new solutions and benefit from the shared learning of what works. We look forward to working with members in the 2022-23 membership year to help ensure this funding and the projects it enables makes a difference for all our members.”
Other funded project opportunities are set to be announced later in the academic year which recognise the full diversity of Advance HE members and their context.
