Project Title: Deducing and Devising Artificial Intelligence Adoption in Higher Education: Exploring Attitudes, Intentions, and Behaviours of MSc Students Towards ChatGPT Utilisation and Academic Integrity (DDAIHE)
The project is: About to start
Project Summary:
I have studied Language Models from technical perspectives within my domain of Computer Science research, which enables me to recognize the potential and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based disruptive technologies.
In education, Large Language Models (LLMs) hold enormous potential for enabling personalized learning and equal opportunities, thereby democratizing learning, and writing for all students, regardless of whether English is their first language or if they have learning disabilities.
However, LLMs also pose challenges by potentially encouraging intentional and unintentional plagiarism, and they may have long-term impacts on students' learning capabilities, affecting their self-confidence, creativity, and writing skills.
The impact of LLM-integrated tools like ChatGPT on higher education and assessment has been studied in the literature, including the potential for students to use ChatGPT-generated responses without critical evaluation. In this project, my aim is to explore how AI technologies can be harnessed sustainably while addressing these challenges. I will also explore mechanisms to enhance learning outcomes through planned behaviors and cultivate a constructive attitude toward the technology.
Impact: Enhanced learning outcomes through planned behaviours and cultivated constructive attitude toward the AI-based disruptive technologies.
Audience: Individuals utilising or considering the use of ChatGPT, especially within the context of Higher Education.
This output is part of a member project - AI Garage: Creating the Future Now which collects and curates cutting-edge practice examples of AI. You can explore other submissions here.
