Advance HE recognises there are different voices with differing views and approaches in the provision of higher education from around the world, this includes how insitution's may choose to enhance their curricula.
This project is part of the 2020 Good Practice Grants, which helped Advance HE members to develop and share innovative practice.
This Kingston University project aim was to understand views of what is meant by decolonising the curriculum and why it is important in science. To achieve this, Decolonising Science Workshops ran as part of this project at University of Bristol, University of Leeds and Keele University which revealed that many academic staff were keen to unpack what decolonisation meant and how it related to Science. Staff were particularly keen to find out what they could do to decolonise their curricula. Examples of how it may be achieved were popular features of presentations and discussions. The materials produced here have been informed by and derived from the presentations and discussions at these workshops.
