The NET Conference, a leading annual event for healthcare education professionals worldwide, is changing its name to the NETworking & Innovation in Healthcare Education Conference to reflect its growing focus on the broader healthcare sector, while emphasising the two most fundamental areas of the conference ethos – networking and innovation.
Juliette Gaunt, Senior Consultant at Advance HE, said, “We're very excited about the upcoming NETworking & Innovation in Healthcare Education Conference. In the 33 years we've been working with the organising committee, the conference has grown into an event for everyone working in the healthcare sector, so we knew we needed a name change to emphasise this new ethos.
“We've also taken on board the detailed feedback received from participants last year and have increased variety and flexibility within the programme, as well as placing a greater distinction between the types of session on offer. This helps us continue to have the conference as the premier event for networking in healthcare education.”
Professor Jo Clarke, internationally acclaimed academic and expert on resilience from Petros, a not-for-profit mental-health provider, will deliver the keynote at this year’s conference. Alongside her, a variety of presentations, panels and poster sessions will address the event’s main themes: recruitment and admissions, learning design and delivery, belonging and learner engagement, learner support and developing the future healthcare workforce.
NETworking & Innovation in Healthcare Education aims to build on the success of last year’s conference when 83% of survey respondents said they were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’, 85% agreed that the networking opportunities were good and 93% said the presentations gave them innovative ideas.
Dr Lisa Taylor, Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy in the School of Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia, said, “The NET conference is an opportunity for those involved in education in healthcare across the world to come together to share good practice and network. I have presented at and attended the conference a number of times and have found it to be a very valuable experience.
“This conference is particularly welcoming for student presentations. Two of my students have had successful abstract submissions enabling them to present their dissertation findings, which has been a brilliant experience for them."
“The NET2022 Conference was a wonderful experience. I attended remotely from Australia and was able to engage in networking, discussions that will advance my research and have the opportunity to learn from other professionals, academics, clinicians and most importantly, students.”Lisa Speedie – Nursing Lecturer, Charles Sturt University
“Everyone was very kind and supportive. It was a great environment to present in with lots of thought-provoking ideas to mull over and put into practice.”Anna Rees – Lecturer in Physiotherapy, University of Liverpool
“Delivering a presentation for the very first time we received amazing feedback that was well perceived by the delegates. Came away from the NET 2022 Conference more energised, with great knowledge from the thought-provoking discussions that increased my optimism for change and making meaningful connections and felt belongingness around me.”Nahid Younis – Lecturer, Birmingham City University
