Gillian has worked for DN Colleges for 13 years and is currently Head of School for Health, Education and Sport across the University Campus North Lincolnshire and University Campus Doncaster. Gillian joined the college in 2010 after working in a variety of early years’ settings and after gaining her BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies. In 2011 she gained Early Years Professional Status and in 2012 she graduated from the University of Cambridge with a MEd in Primary Education. Gillian runs the University Interfaith group, is a member of the LA’s EDI group, a member of Scunthorpe Rotary Club and is a board member of North Lincolnshire SACRE.
Gillian is always seeking ways to enhance the student experience, challenging them to push themselves out of their comfort zone. She has organised a variety of events for charity and organises an annual Fast-a-thon and community Iftar during Ramadan. Gillian enjoys taking students on international residentials and has taken students to Italy, Ghana and India in the past few years. Gillian believes students should not be silent scholars and they should showcase the excellent work they produce. The Chamber Challenge will allow students to do just that.
