Vic is a Senior Consultant at Advance HE, designing and delivering support and training on inclusive pedagogy approaches and leading a range of collaborative projects to enhance quality, student experience and outcomes. She has over 25 years of experience in education as a teacher, teacher trainer, academic manager and assessment specialist. Vic’s main interests are in international education, inclusive curricula and assessment design and technology-enhanced learning.
Vic started her career in education teaching English as a Second Language in 1997. She taught in Poland and Hungary before returning to the UK, where she held roles in teacher training and academic management, before moving into Higher Education in 2008. After completing her Master’s in Applied Linguistics, Vic was a lecturer at Sussex University and also delivered teacher training courses at Brighton University.
In her more recent role as Head of Curriculum for an international pathway provider, Vic designed and implemented curricula and assessments for international undergraduate and postgraduate students progressing to 18 universities in the UK, Europe and Australia, and developed a suite of Academic English assessments which gained validation by UK ENIC, the government agency responsible for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skills, and was accepted by 75 universities worldwide for admissions purposes.
Vic has previously worked closely with Pearson on their Global Scale of English for Academic Learners, presenting work on embedding the framework in curricula and assessment development at international conferences and acting as a Thought Leader for Pearson. Vic is an External Examiner for Heriot-Watt University and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
